Train 4 The Game has taken great care to assemble a team of performance specialists that share a common vision: To create a system that provides our athletes with the best possible environment for restoring, developing, and enhancing their performance. Our performance specialists all hold master's degrees in exercise physiology and human movement science, but more importantly, they are dedicated to continually educating themselves so they are able to provide a constantly improving service.

The T4TG Internship Program
At T4TG, one of our primary objectives is to help educate young coaches who want to become great coaches. Our internship program is designed to help you question many of the conventional principles of performance training and begin to establish your own philosophy so that you may find new ways to influence others. We want you to learn how to evaluate the body structurally and dynamically, understanding the entire kinetic chain and prescribing and implementing the best exercises and progressions to meet the individual needs of each athlete.
Internships run on a semester basis in the spring, summer, and fall. Intern applicants should be receiving or pursuing a degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or related field.

Andy Twellman
Director of Operations
Andy Twellman is the Director of Operations at Train 4 The Game. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Truman State University in 2000, Andy came to The University of Texas at Austin to work on his Master's Degree in Kinesiology. While studying at Texas, he had the good fortune to work with Men's Basketball Strength Coach Todd Wright and the team for two years.
Upon completing his degree program, Andy sought to create a destination where athletes could come to train for their game, and Train 4 The Game was born. Since its inception in 2002, Andy has guided Train 4 The Game to be one of the most innovative and respected training facilities in the country.
Currently he is a facilitator for the Gray Institute of Functional Transformation (GIFT), a 40-week program tasked with educating dozens of the top physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, strength coaches, and physicians from around the country. As a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) and 2008 GIFT graduate, Andy seized the opportunity to help others achieve the same level of confidence in working with clients of all kinds, whether for prevention, rehabilitation, or performance enhancement.
Andy lives in Cedar Park with his wife Sally, son Drew, and daughter Quinn.

Tim Skwiat
Director of Continuing Education
Tim Skwiat, a performance specialist and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, recently earned his Master's degree in Sports Science and Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin. Tim graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette) in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Sports Science. Although prepared in a variety of bodies of knowledge, Tim is a sports scientist that specializes in Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition as they relate to human performance.
Tim has had the opportunity to coach male and female athletes from high school to the professional ranks in a variety of sports. Tim's dedication to the athlete and to the athlete's performance is clearly evident in his passionate and energetic coaching style. Through motivation and education, Tim assists the athlete in tapping their full potential.

Josh Ryan
Performance Specialist
Josh graduated from the University of Texas in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Throughout his time at UT and in the years since, Josh has been a volunteer for the University of Texas men's and women's basketball programs under the supervision of the strength and conditioning coach, Todd Wright. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Josh is knowledgeable in the preparation of the human body for the movements demanded in all varieties of environments, from daily life to competitive athletics. He has been fortunate enough to train a wide range of clients, many from various training and sporting backgrounds.

Max Bookman
Performance Specialist
Max recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He started diving at the age of nine, and competed across The United States as well as on the international level. Max was recruited onto the UT Swimming & Diving Team as a springboard and platform diver under head coach and former U.S. Olympian Matt Scoggin. From 2001-2004 Max assisted the Longhorns in winning three consecutive Big XII titles along with one NCAA Division I championship (2001).
Max is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and is a member of the American College of Sport Medicine. From 1998 to 2000 he was an assistant diving instructor for the Trojan Dive Club at the University of Southern California in his hometown of Los Angeles. During his 12 years as a competitive diver, Max became fascinated with the mechanics of the human body. He is well experienced at evaluating movement and uncovering ways to maximize athletic potential. As a performance specialist, he is dedicated to exploring the limits of the human body, a goal he tries to instill in each of his clients.
Max currently lives in central Austin. He enjoys mountain biking and playing with his two Labradors, Cassius and Clay.

Jessica Vaiana
Director of Athlete Development
Jessica is a recent graduate from the University of Texas where she earned her degrees in both Biology and Kinesiology. She is currently in the process of entering the Kinesiology masters program at Texas, seeking a degree in Sports Science and Nutrition. Jessica has participated in sports all her life and while at Texas, she enjoyed participating in many club sports, particularly playing on the club basketball and nationally ranked club tennis team.
Jessica is a certified personal trainer and a member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). As a performance coach at Train 4 The Game, she is dedicated to continually expanding her knowledge about training, so as to provide her clients with the highest quality training available. Her desire to learn, in combination with her experience as a life-long athlete and her understanding of how the body works in sport as well as in everyday life, has prepared Jessica to work with clients from every background.
Jessica currently lives in south Austin, and enjoys traveling and attending Longhorn sporting events.

Chris Lewallen
Performance Specialist
Chris recently graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Business Administration. As an undergraduate, he volunteered in his department's physiology lab and wellness programs under his school's directions. Before accepting a position as a performance specialist at T4TG, Chris shined as an intern. His passions for training, helping people and being the best coach are all oustanding. Through his T4TG experiences, Chris has solidified his training philosophy, career and his understanding for performance training.
Chris is a Certified Personal Trainer and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Chris is a life-long athlete and has competed in a wide variety of sports at various levels of competition. Chris' passions for training, the human body and pushing the envelope have fueled his fire to learn as much as possible about performance training and human function. Chris currently resides in Austin and enjoys participating in all sports, including basketball, football, tennis, raquetball, and mountain biking.
